For any people that know me, I’m a fiend for sweets. Especially the sweet fruity flavor of all things Gummi! I would list my current favorite as Trolli Peach Rings, or Trolli Peaches. When you first open that packaging, and that sweet aroma of Peach and sugar is intoxicating.
I had always wondered what was involved, so i started looking for some homemade recipies for Gummis, and one that i found and tried for the first time today!
Home made Gummi recipie, can’t find where i got it, but the recipie is pretty common across all the sites I’ve seen…
1 package of Flavored Jell-O (i did cherry)
7 packets of Unflavored Gelatin
1/2 Ounce of Cold Water
Molds for the gummy shapes (I used summer shapes, and christmas!)
Mix water, Jell-O, and Gelatin in a small sauce pan until it becomes a smooth and is well mixed. Then over low heat continue stirring. The mixture will become more liquid and smooth and yummy looking. Keeping it warm, place into whatever candy molds you have. Place filled molds in freezer for 10 minutes to set and cool. Remove from freezer, and carefully remove gummis from mold and place on wax paper. Enjoy…

They are “good” but not nearly as sweet as i would have hoped. I’m going to do some more attempts to try and refine the recipe, maybe trying fruit juice rather than flavored jello, or adding in some sugar to help with the sweetness. Ill make an update if i make any candy breakthroughs!
Let me set the stage so you understand the confusion I have on this issue… Today around 1:45 in the afternoon, arguably among the hottest part of the day, in Fort Worth Texas. The temperature is 97 degrees, with our Humidity that makes a heat index of 105. Pretty darn hot! I saw 3 driving age teenagers, my guess would be 17 or so, come out of a building and get into a car that I figure had probably been out in the sun for at least 15-20 minutes based on how long I was there. All 3 of these kids were wearing jeans, and long-sleeved hooded zip-up sweatshirts with the hood up! Yes, I’m guessing you are focusing at the same point that I’m drawing you too… LONG SLEEVED HOODED SWEATSHIRT WITH THE HOOD ON! I watched them get into the car, and drive off…hood still on. Now I realize they are going for a particular “look”. Thats fine. But at what point does comfort and looking a particular way go too far. Is a particular “look” worth that much? Especially since its not like there were any girls with them…it was just 3 typical emo looking skateboard type boys.
I’m far from the best shape, I don’t dispute that. But I get overheated and uncomfortable wearing jeans and a long sleeved shirt, when others would call it cool out. I am generally miserable in anything but shorts and a Tshirt. Which is one of the best reasons that Texas works very well for me. I don’t really have to change my wardrobe much throughout the year, because even at the coldest, I’m not exposed to it long enough to be bothered by it. My suggestion to these kids… put on the sweatshirt and hood and get your “look” when there is someone around who might notice your look. Otherwise you might get noticed by your stench first!
Well as you can easily see I don’t post here very often usually because I never have any good ideas of what TO post. I’m going to try and get stuff going here with some frequency. Watch this space. Either you will se some posts or you will see another, “I’m gonna try and post more often post!”. LOL
Jack counting with his daddy! Easiest way to publish it was to add it to a photo… enjoy.

I felt my first earthquake today. North Texas had a 3.3 strength earthquake today. I felt it bit at the time didn’t know what I had felt. Later I read that it was indeed an earthquake.
I’ve been other places that had quakes but this was the first that I actually felt.
I’ve hoped that I was just missing her in passing but it appears the mourning dove who had made her nest in our hanging flower basket has moved on and abandoned the nest.
She turned up missing after a couple of days of really bad storms had rolled through. I guess she couldn’t take it and moved to somewhere else. I was hoping to see our eggs hatching here soon…
One of our long standing members made this video montage from various raids Naxx, Malygos, and more recently in Ulduar… very cool.
Tonight with a fresh lockout we went back into Ulduar, easily taking the first four bosses, with only minor hiccups. This meant that we could focus on learning the strat on our first new boss… Kologarn. We can pretty close, but we had a few wipes and in the end couldn’t take him down before end of raid. I’m sure when we head back in on sunday we will get him and at the very least 1 or 2 other bosses.
On another note, I took some suggestions from Meka, probably one of the most well know Restoration Shamans (one of the Guild Leaders for Ensidia – guild responsible for MANY world first boss kills). The main change was moving away from Chain Heal, and more into Lesser Healing Wave. Both spells heal about the same, though Chain Heal heals up to 4 targets (reducing amount healed on each successive jump). But in general i can heal 2 targets full amount more efficiently than i can do 4, especially in typical raid situations where people are spread out. Chain heal works best when people stay clumped together, since there is a range on the jumps. I get more speed, plus a small respec added Ancestral Healing, which bumps the target i get a critical heal on by 25% for 15sec. Adding 1/4 of a targets armor is huge! Overall the change made a noticeable difference, finishing the raid as 3rd most heals.
